Podcasts
What are podcasts?
Podcasts are a way of subscribing to a regularly updated feature of a website, such as the latest news, events or audio talks, without having to periodically revisit the website providing the content. The podcast is delivered to your computer when the next 'episode' is ready and viewed using a podcast reader. For a more detailed explanation see the Wikipedia definition of a podcast.
Podcasts are synonymous with iTunes - the media player released by Apple – and the iPod – the portable media player by the same company. For more information regarding podcasting and iTunes please see their Frequently Asked Questions article.

How do I subscribe?
There is a few way to subscribe, but the recommended way of getting the Avenue podcast is to use iTunes. If you don’t have iTunes go to www.apple.com/itunes/download/, download the program and install it.
There are three different ways to subscribe using iTunes:
- Automatically, just click this
link, which should launch iTunes and allow you to click on the "Subscribe" icon - Search for the podcast on the iTunes directory - Open iTunes, click on the “iTunes Store” link, in the search box type in something like ‘avenue community church sermons’, then press enter and the podcast should be listed.
- Use the “Subscribe to Podcast…” option – Open iTunes, under the “Advanced” menu select “Subscribe to Podcast…” - In the box that opens copy and paste this link:
http://www.avenuecommunitychurch.org.uk/podcasts/itunes/sermons.asp
Then select “OK”
